I was asked to post some of the hand made things I was giving for Christmas…so here they are…this one is going to be framed to hang for my Auntie Sharon.

I made this one for my mom…we have Dutch heritage, so my mom collects windmills.   This will also be framed to hang.

I will post more later.

Matthew taught me…

A few years ago Andrew came home with a snowflake that he had made at school.  I asked him if he could show me how to make it and he couldn’t remember.  Matthew, who was four or five at the time, took notice apparently…he came home this past weekend and asked me if I remembered the snowflake that Andrew made.  I said yes and Matthew told me that one of his friends taught him how to make it.  So we sat down Sunday morning and he showed me how to make the snowflake.

I never thought that someone so little would remember something like that.  I am blessed that my kids are always thinking of me and that I like to make things.  I am very proud of Matthew for showing me how to make that snowflake…and you can bet we will have them hanging all over the house soon.

Just some stuff…

Well, we took my van in to be looked at.  Hopefully it won’t cost to much for repairs…I’m praying it is a simple problem.  We should know by the end of the day what is going on.

I went to the daycare last night to finish the last bit of painting I had to do.  My brother, Karl, took me over there and he helped me.  He painted the butterflies and the dragonflies that were on the wall with Roo.Roo and the Dragonflies

The Butterflies, Karl mixed the paint colors himself. I like the yellow butterfly.

The whole wall, except for the butterflies

Flowers at the entrance to the nursery

The wall in between the infants and the toddlers, I painted this about a month ago.

This is the wall on the toddlers side of the room.  I added water to the Heffalump to make it look like he was watering the flowers.

So now I am finished with this project…

as I write this it is snowing outside and it’s sticking.

Purse cards

October 26th was my niece Crystal’s 13th birthday.  I have never mentioned her before, not sure why but maybe because we don’t see her that often.  She is David’s brother’s ,Kenneth , daughter.  She lives in Espanola, NM.

Anyway, I wanted to make her a special card for her 13th birthday.  So I made her a purse.  Her favorite color is purple and I thougth the leopard print looked like a teenager.

scan0010 I made a flower out of some ribbon I had in my desk and thought it went well with the purse.

I decided later to make my own pattern out of this purse so I could make more…and I did make a few more and have more in the making  still.

mountains 185

I bought a set of round Knifty Knitters and this is what I am making with them.  These ones are the two smaller sizes of the set.

The smallest one would fit a new born baby or a doll.  The other one would fit a toddler.
